Zombies?

  Zombies?

Andrew, Zombies don't do contests.
they spend their time wandering around.
Dragging their foot like the government,
making this terrible sound!

They smell of rotten formaldehyde,
with pieces falling off of their wraps.
Coming at you from out of their coffins,
emerging from beneath their straps.

Even Sailor Mercury will avoid them,
unless she is called out to fight.
She would rather stay home and watch a movie,
than go outside late at night.

They are members of the walking dead,
like children on their first days of school.
Lurking in, all the dark places,
you will be running to mom like a fool.

Halloween is coming and I'm sure we will see,
Zombies, coming out in full sight!
They'll be here and there, giving a scare,
The children will run in fright!

Keep asking for more, you know what's in store,
You'll be inundated, Andrew.
Zombies, that are here and Zombies there,
think what you're getting us into!

Congrats on winning the contest.

The imagery in this poem is great. And I loved the Sailor Moon references. I don't know if Andrew is your child but that is also someone in Sailor Moon.
It is a bit dark for the younger group, but I must admit that so are Zombies.
Great job and keep up the good work.

Great poem about zombies. Congratulations on winning the contest. I really enjoyed reading this and I liked the way you described things.

I find this interesting. I like the meter that you have used that is consistent in most of your verses.
Not sure, but can formaldehyde go bad?

I think this is rather adorable. And there really is a zombie diseases in south America, you die come back for a short period of time and then die again. Weird huh? Keep up the good work.

Cute, funny. Incidentally, I think "wondering" should be "wandering" around.

I don't quite understand the contest thing. What do you mean by that? I can see you're trying to teach a young child about Zombies, perhaps your son, but some of the rhymes are a bit forced and the subject matter a bit dark for a small child. I don't even think Zombies exist, do they?
