  Help Us

We call from the desert,
The forest and the hills,
And beg you to help us,
No longer be still.

We call, for we're starving,
And want to be fed,
We call for our children,
Going hungry to bed.

We hear of your nation,
And cannot believe,
That you're never hungry,
It's hard to conceive.

We've heard that there's plenty
Of food to be found,
Yet we live in misery,
And heartache abounds.

Can you spare a morsel,
And help us today?,
To see one more sunrise,
And live through the day?

A pain in our belly,
Is all that we know,
Please come to our rescue,
And let your love show.

Yes we as a people have food in excess no doubt and it is sad to see starving children in Africa and third world countries and yes I think that it is great that you want to help and try to get others to end world hunger, but what about those we see starving everyday. There are plenty of hungry people in America, we can start right here and once we feed our children they can feed them. Thank you for you poem, it is very heart breaking, Good job
