If people were like puppies,
And acted just the same,
We'd live a life of tolerance,
And would not point the blame.

For puppies trust most everyone,
And show such loyalty,
If we could be like puppies,
I know we could be free.

If people were like puppies,
And cared for everyone,
Then we could live in harmony,
And not live by the gun.

If people were like puppies,
Our lives would be so fine,
We'd think of those less fortunate,
And not just "what is mine."

For puppies are so innocent,
And give you all their love,
They are a blessing from our God,
A treasure from above.

If people were like puppies,
The world would be as one,
But we are not like puppies,
And look what we've become.

if people were like puppies then there would be nothing special about your puppy. But yes, your right I am sure we could all learn something from puppies. Good job

Wow, this gave me goose bumps! That was a nice write and so very true! Its funny how I read this tonight after being with the Salvation Army Fellowship last night at the homeless shelter. I felt soooo low. We do have everything and people forget that. We see the things we dont have and forget the things we do have. There were women there with Babies for crying out loud!!!! My cats have it better than some people! But your poem is true. If people, humans, would stick together and not worry about what they dont have, maybe we would survive all the hurt and pain. But dont hold your breath.

I wonder if the scientists would be able to stop fleas then? This would be a nice idea except the part where we would have to sniff everyone's butts! I have seen that look your puppy has and I think you better get out the treats! Anthony
