Bottle o' Stuff
by Leah Garrison (Age: 20)
copyright 09-25-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Dear Mr. Manufacturer,
I have a question, please
about the bottle of liquid stuff
Mom uses on my skinned knees

I read the back of it one time
when I was very young
and now I have used it on everything
that hurt or bled or stung.

It says to use on scrapes or cuts
but not on sensitive parts,
so I was wondering today -
what about broken hearts?

It bleeds only a little bit
like crying tears of red.
My mom said just to give it time -
can I use your stuff instead?

It's an antiseptic anaesthetic,
it kills germs and doesn't stain,
it helps prevent infection,
and best of all - it numbs the pain.

So quickly send your "yes" reply
and I'll pour it on tonight.
Your stuff will work its magic
and come the morn I'll be all right.

*~**inspired by a bottle of Bactine and Tony's broken heart**~*

This was great! It's quite unusual and when I first started to read it, I must admit that I didn't think that I was going to like it, but I loved it. It's funny but at the same time has meaning and it also gives a sense of sadness as well.

Well done!

Very nice poem! Childhood memories are a special place to visit. This poem has great humor and has triggered memories of my own past. A complete piece.

Ha... I WISH stuff like that was that easy to mend. Just spash the stuff on and *poof*, the pain's gone.
Hey... can you tell me what the guy said? It'd be funny if you did sort of a sequel poem to this with the manager's reply. If you do write something like that, be sure to drop me a line!

The title really caught my eye ;) This is a very unique piece of literature. I love it!

I wish it was that easy to mend a broken heart, but we know it is not. This was a great poem and I really enjoyed reading this before I turned in. Now where is that bactine? I'll give it a try anyway! Anthony

Awwwww...I absolutely loved this! And this was a wonderful dedication to Tony's broken heart.

I think we've all experienced the pain of loss. Would it be so much nicer if we could just pour on the bactine?

Beautiful work!
