My Song of Honor

  My Song of Honor

All American Girl
In an all American dream
Living' fast
and living' free
All American Girl
In an all
American dream
American soldiers
bought it for me

Gave their lives,
to get their dream
Now the glory in their eyes
shines down on me

All American Girl
In an all American dream
Living' fast
and living' free
All American Girl
In an all
American dream
American soldiers
bought it for me

Now, my eyes have seen
and yes, I must confess
I am a daughter
of Freedom
In peace
I hope they rest

All American Girl
In an all American dream
Living' fast
and living' free
All American Girl
In an all
American dream
American soldiers
bought it for me

Can you hear
the music
Can you
feel the beat
Dance
I wanna
dance
Yes
I can't
be beat

I think the new title fits this poem much better. And although I don't agree with war (for god said to turn our swords into plow shares), I do see that you are appreciative for the freedom we all enjoy. Imagine the freedom we'll enjoy when God brings paradise and all will be one nation, truly under God, for all eternity. How wonderful it will be when people will stop squabbling over the little things, sending soldier to fight their battles, and each side praying to God for victory. What's God supposed to do/say anyway, when he told us to stop fighting in the first place. ??? Anyway, I digress. The name is much more suited to this poem than the other one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I must be missing the point, or maybe I just see things differently.
Soldiers of various nations, including mine, are fighting a dying, they why of it escapes me. I still can't see how Iraq or Afghanistan threatens my, or your freedom. The idea of them invading us is to silly to contemplate.
We went to war in Iraq on a lie. Our soldiers are still dying because of that lie.

Hmm... although Mr. Potato Head is an American icon... I don't make the connection with the poem. I feel a great deal of energy here. Freedom is a rush, eh?
