We stop by the river edge my friend and I
she puts her hand in mine I am lost in her sad blue eyes
a drifting in space as a cool breeze takes us down life's path
so well she aged and so well she lived always correct and there
husband passed on, children grown, gray has graced her auburn hair
every stop on life's path takes a bit of you and every path creates you a new
We stop by the river edge my friend and I
I held her close told it was okay to cry
a slow filled sob filled those eyes
time is cruel and a joy in view
love takes second place
We stop by the river edge my friend and I
I told her it was okay to move on
but once again I lied
no pain no gain
always we try
glass is full
We stop by the river edge my friend and I
my heart broke as I said goodbye
no gift is lost or gained by death
in the breeze I relieve her pain
I in sun call her sweet name
On dew grass kiss her lips
We stop by the river edge my friend and I
she puts her hand in mine I am lost in her sad blue eyes
a drifting in space as a cool breeze takes us down life's path
so well she aged and so well she lived always correct and there
husband passed on, children grown, gray has graced her auburn hair
every stop on life's path takes a bit of you and every path creates you a new
The world is full of life in every breath you take
forget reason just live for no one is with out mistakes
time forgives every step in a world born of man
woman holds love when and where she can

Sounds like a song that needs a tune. I didn't quite feel the rhythm of the write, maybe it will find me. I really liked the way the write expressed the story within the story, very good.
Love it! Just love it! Great last line!-- This is what meditation mean to me-- all that happens in one moment-- nothing and everything, and realizing that this is really all there is-- where compassion and wisdom come from, at that point of choiceless awareness, which can be every moment if we let it. Love it!
You have excelled yourself with this. It captures fully the feeling of an old, maybe a lost, love. It is a feeling that I can totally relate too.
Thanks for awakening the memories.
