Like A Brother
by David Pekrul
copyright 10-05-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

His skin may have a darker hue,
Than that of me and that of you,
But he has feelings just as true,
So treat him like a brother.

Don't act as if he isn't there,
For that is cruel and so unfair,
That attitude will go nowhere,
So treat him like a brother.

Don't try to overcompensate,
Your friendliness will look so fake,
Just give the man a good handshake,
And treat him like a brother.

Let's treat our neighbour as our kin,
From every race and coloured skin,
To do much less would be a sin,
Let's treat him like a brother.

For we are different, every one,
While some have riches, some have none,
When all things are both said and done,
Let's treat each like a brother.

He ain't heavy... he's my brother! *soft knowing smile* And I wholeheartedly agree. After all, we not only all came from Adam and really are brothers, but we all came from Noah too! And since we all bleed red and spend green, why can't we all get along? God loves us all (each and every one of us) and we're supposed to imitate him in all things. :-)

I have a dark brown son, a golden brown son, a light tan son, and a very pale daughter, so I threat everyone like a brother, or sister, you know whatever. anyway and I hope they don't have to grow up being judge by the color of their skin but I know they will grow up together and that will help them be a little bit stronger. Good job, good message, thank you

If only this would happen in the real world. Sadly I think it never will. I do however agree with your sentiments.
Unfortunately, when we look at this world there is little peace to be found.
It will remain so while we argue over religion and have such a chasm between the haves and have not's.
Well stated, Brian.

You write from your very heart
and have done so from the start
I hope our friendship will not part
for I do, consider you my brother.

I watch as you learn and grow
how your heart you do show
and I always want you to know
that I love you like a brother.

You are a very nice person and I only hope this is catchy and spreads like wildfire. The world would go much farther faster if love took the place of hate. I hope that is what is found on heaven and even wish it can still happen here on Earth. Good job, my friend and brother! Anthony
