It was a typical day at Crossroads Junior High for Usagi, Ami, and Makoto. Classes tended to blend into one another, one subject the same as the next with no discernable differences. Ami was excelling, Makoto was existing, and Usagi was daydreaming about her beloved Mamoru and the weekend. One could say that things were normal... until a new student arrived!
The door flew open as a tall, bespectacled boy with short brown hair and a blue cloak strode in the class. "Class, meet our new student! He moved from America to experience our school system. His name is Maximillian Jordan, but he prefers to be called Jordan..." With that, he faced the class and viewed them with an air befitting a monarch or a conquering hero. With little more than a second glance, he strode to an empty desk and claimed it as his own.
With the new student in place, class activity resumed as normal... as normal as math class can be for Usagi, who thought "This is too hard! I can't stand it!" Ami was thinking "This is simple... but I must study later today!" Makoto was wondering about the newcomer with the aura of a monarch. "I wonder if he's single... if so, this may be my chance to get a boyfriend!" she thought with a sly smile.
Class ended and lunch came, and the dormant youth came to life once more, if only for a few minutes. The eager Usagi dashed off to eat outside while the more controlled Ami and Makoto walked. At the end of Usagi's dash to freedom, she met with her friend Naru, who was gazing at something in the distance. "Are you gonna eat anything or..." stopped Usagi midsentence as she saw the enigmatic Jordan staring with a stoic look at the noon sky. Determined to find out something about the new guy, she walked over to him and introduced herself.
When he did not look down at her, she became irritated and waved her hand frantically in his face, searching for a response from this automaton. After a few frenzied seconds, he said "Greetings Usagi... I am Jordan. What business have you?" Usagi replied "FINALLY! Umm... just wanted to talk! You're new here right? Let me introduce you to a few of my... WAIT! COME BACK HERE!" she shouted, but he did not heed her. "What a jerk!" the flustered Usagi thought, but then she got to thinking "... What if he's an agent of evil? What is his plan?!"
On her way to class, Makoto literally walked into Jordan and apologized, then made a move. Obviously blushing, she asked "I don't know you that well... but... do you want to be my boyfriend?" He looked into her clear green eyes, his blue eyes revealing nothing to her... a few seconds later he said "Very well... I accept your offer! Perhaps our friendship could be beneficial to both of our ends..." With a burst of excitement, Makoto leaped forth to hug her new boyfriend, whose glasses were fogged up! "Umm... are you alright Jordan?" asked Makoto. "I am alright... I merely have a tendency to be nervous around beautiful girls such as yourself..." he replied with a blush while he wiped his glasses.
After he hurriedly departed, Ami walked over to the daydreaming Makoto and asked "What happened? He appeared embarassed about something... What did you do to him?" Ami asked with a suspicious tone. Makoto replied happily "You just saw my new boyfriend!!! He said he gets nervous around beautiful girls!" Just then, the still-irate Usagi stomped by, prompting Ami to ask what happened. She snorted "That new guy's such a jerk! I was talking to him and he walked off! HOW RUDE!" Makoto quickly replied "Nonsense! He's my new boyfriend! If he was rude to you, he wasn't to me... in fact, he gets nervous around beautiful girls like me!"
"We need to keep an eye on him..." mused Usagi. Ami added "Perhaps subtle surveillance will allow us to understand Jordan's personality and behavior better..." Makoto said "Whatever! I want to go on a date with him! I CAN'T WAIT!!!" Since he was her boyfriend, Makoto was designated to be the primary spy on Jordan, with Ami as backup. Thus began an interesting new adventure for the Sailor Senshi...
