  Queen of Hearts

Armored-plated you are
Battle-tested, independent and free
But oh, so tender and sweet
In your eyes a light I see

Shinning strongly from within
A light not dimmed indeed
For lust and love, the same to me
The smell of your velvet hair
So tenderly pleasant in my senses bare

Inside your heart I shall conceive
My sentiments for you to always be
For your reign has suddenly bewitched
A life of purpose to be shared

Regally dressed in simple clad
Your jewels of wisdom do declare
this life of ours to compare
a saddened child that begs repair

Forlorn your smile, I’ll always cheer
To all proclaimed your love, my dear
In thoughts of you, these words are versed
Oh, darling, one more night I pray
One more instance in this life to curse

Your royalty for me to keep
was given notice from the sky above
and now I've found my precious love
disguised of sorrow in this world asleep

When I read this I envisioned myself being that Queen. Boy did it feel wonderful. :-) My heart fell for your words. You should feel very pleased to know this reader not only reads your poetry, she feels them as well. This is my favorite. Excellent!

When I saw the title the first thing I thought was Juice Newton's song "Queen of Hearts"(I know, I love oldies). But this is very diffrent I like how you dipped your quill into tarot, nice.

This is very regal and poetic, like a Renaissance poem. The words paint pictures and the flow is wonderful.
