For My Mom

  For My Mom

Debbie, Debbie, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
I see you now, I will tell you now
How much I love you so

You work so hard
out in the yard

In all your toil
in that soil
you never stop
you never quit

I see you now
I want you know
I am glad you are my mom
and I want to tell you so

I am not good at saying out loud so well
All the things I want to tell

When I think about what you have done
how you have worked, when you could have had fun

What you gave up
and the price you've paid
let me go, when you wish I'd have stayed

All the tears
through all the years
I can only imagine the pain
as I see you cry when I tell you
I must leave you
yet again

I am sorry I hurt you
I had not a clue
I thought you were oblivious
to what was so obvious

But if you ever wonder if I ever forgave you
I have to tell you, I really never blamed you

I thought it was my fault, but they told not to blame my self
Those people, they told me it was you
but I know, they were only trying to help

I am sorry I can't say it any better
As I struggle to write this letter

I can't believe it never occurred to me
That you were really just trying to help me

I am sorry for everything I did
But I am thankful I'm your kid

I hope we can learn to get a long
and now I know, my mom can do no wrong!

I love you, mom
Happy birthday

Thinking of you....

Thank you, Little Butterfly. Another year has past... what a year.
Write me another poem? One for my harvest contest.. tell me the feeling in the air.. the smells.. the scenery..
Ghostly, or bountiful? Warm and cuddly, or cold and forlorn... write me a poem.. or story!
Thank you sweetie.
love, Mom
