Take the key of my heart
and lock it away for all eternity.
For I am not the one you seek.
My soul is trapped in the earth
waiting for its time to be released.
I am the earth,
my song drifts upon the wind
singing its sweet song to the trees.
My tears fall from the sky,
and spread joy across the world.
My firey heart calls out with an erupting force,
but no one dares to find out why.
So I sleep, Sleep till the day that one finds the key and unlocks my secrets.

Like the lava that swells from my dungeons, I will live for ever, like the Earth that spoils me, until I blow my top and spew my subjects with my essence! This is the vision that I get from this piece, a volcano! A volcano, waiting for the right time to erupt! Great imagery and wonderful fluidity, Floriana!
I really like this poem...It expresses well the mystery and the awe the Ancients once held. Gaia being the greatest of all earth and nature goddesses has received a fitting tribute from your pen, she is also a powerful metaphor for the psycholigical and emotional upheavals suffered by all of us in some degree...The only fault I see at all is the spelling of firey, it should be fiery.
