  My Life has Begun

My life is changed today
I no longer hold on to yesterday
I have now begun to dig up the gift
that I have buried inside
And I will uncover what I was trying to hide

Slowly, slowly, I find myself
My talent, my gift, my words
Not my lips, my mouth, my voice, my speech
but my song, my dance, my picture I paint

I will paint you a picture with a thousand words
No more, no less for all that it's worth
It might take me a while but only time will tell
My story begins today not yesterday

But tomorrow will come and tomorrow I wait
but today is the day I embrace
with my face
to the sun

And all of Gods people said
In Jesus Name, we pray Amen, and
Amen
My life has begun

Much to enjoy in this poem. Have you discovered what you are hiding inside? Can you tell me what it is?
My favorite verse was:

I will paint you a picture with a thousand words
No more, no less for all that it's worth
It might take me a while but only time will tell
My story begins today not yesterday

As a poet you equal me, but as a person,\you far surpass me. Next to you I'm an ugly duckling.

Ah, My Regina, you are truly learning to express yourself without the clutter and with so, but so much eloquence! This is absolutely beautiful! Short, compacted feelings and unbridled imagery makes this poem a pleasure to read. The message, so crystal-clear and the flow, what a flow! I'm proud of you! This is a great poem and great poems deserve five points! That's my girl!
