Lover

I fell in love with a man for the first time in my life and he lets me know I am a woman.

I used to laugh when I heard them say, "Excuse me ma'am", or "pardon me miss"
I would just look around and say, Who me?
But, I am just a girl

And then, they would look at my face
my whole face
and then, they would agree
I am just a child
and so I was

And then, I came to a place
where nobody saw my face
And then, they could finally hear
what was trapped inside, this little girl
trapped inside, of me

And, all these words spewed out on page
And, this babe, was now not, a babe
anymore

And, I started showing, my real age

And so, as time went on, and life played out
I started to figure, what it was all about

And then, further on, down the road, one bright and sunny day
I turned on the screen, and, everybody at P N P
said, "happy birthday, dear baby"
"Hope you like it here"
And even sang, that ole happy birthday cheer

And, as if that wasn't enough
I made some friends
It wasn't that tough

But, now, here comes the kicker
sent, from heaven above
I met the man of my dreams
and I fell in love

He was the man
that made me a woman

He is the man that they call Roger

He is the man that I call, Lover

Well,
Nothing I can say to this that hasn't been said before by someone other than myself.

Good Luck.

What a lucky man Roger is! To have someone who can tell the world what love you find in your heart for another. Some people find it rather hard to do. Good write.
