I'm not one to worship anything
Especially not a man
I'm not one to follow
Now don't lecture, understand
I ask not of spiritual guidance

The best guidance I have is my daddy's hand
But even I let go of his hand sometimes
I wish not to be lead through life
I want to push rules and guidelines
Stray and explore
Find my own way
And what exactly am I living for.

I choose no god to lead me
My mind and curiosity will get me farther
So I can see what I wish to see
And have no rules to bother

All I need is a mind to help me forge my path
My only thing I follow is every whim and wish of mine
When I find what I'm looking for my path will be complete.

Sage, as a poet, you have done your job in this piece. Your words, sentences and paragraphs are inculcated with much assertiveness and decisiveness. You are very eloquent and wise for your years (?) But I detect some anger in your words as well. I don’t know how old you are. You may think it doesn’t matter. I’ve noticed that some of the junior members do not like to post their age. For obvious reasons, to know the age of a junior member makes a big difference to me. Wisdom is not innate. Wisdom is acquired, learned and the only way to acquire it is by learning through life experience. It is a fallacy that one will know one’s purpose in life. Some people go through life without ever finding out what their true purpose in life is! Others seem to know at a very early age. In my opinion, you have done an excellent job with this poem. You have asserted yourself and have asked to be treated like an adult. This comes right through your poem. My only advice to you is to live life to the fullest and learn as much as you can about the world that surrounds you and the people that coexist with you. There is always a right way and a wrong way of doing things. You must strive to learn the difference and act accordingly when the times suffices it. Thank you for posting your sentiments and I’ll talk to you soon!

Sage,
I'm not trying to talk to you as a child. I can tell you some things that happened to me in my life that would give you nightmares! I don't usually tell people this, but I was a Witch. A true Witch. Believe it. I did not just go around in life believing God was the one and only. And trust me, I'm still struggling with that. I have a hard time believing whats right and wrong. Especially after everything that has happened to me. And after being a Witch for so long it's not easy to let go. But what I was trying to tell you is, explore. You will find your path. You will. Just as I did. It may take time. But you will. Things happen in life for a reason. You will know what you are here for. Trust me. I'm the last person to preach to you, but you will find your path.
Jen

I want to say how can you deny who you are, but that is not for me to judge, I want to say how will you know when you find it if you don't know what it is but that is not for me to say for I have been there, just the other day, I want to say, if you only knew, but that would just belittle you, But I would like to say, if I may, I admire you, this is in your heart, and I really get that part, and if that is how you feel then thanks for keepin' in real. That takes alot of courage so please don't get discouraged, chin up, shoulders back, keep on, keepin' on, I know you can do it, you may not know what to believe in but that is OK because you believe in you, and I do too. Great write, good job, thank you

Gina

please don't talk to me like a child. I don't believe because its senseless.(no offense if it makes you a good person and all thats fine) But with all the stuff that happens if he was like your neibor you would picket his yard and hate him(and don't say you wouldn't).

We all are looking for ourselves. The paths we choose define who we are. We gain knowledge by exploring things and as we gain that knowledge we learn to choose better paths to follow. I have been there and have done what you are doing and must agree with Jeniffer, my journey has lead me back to where I began. God's design. Good luck on your path and I will always be your friend! Anthony

I don't know what to really tell you except that I've been there where you are now. It does get hard wondering what "the right way and wrong way" is, trust me. I can't tell you not to explore, because I have. But I can tell you that my exploration has brought me to God in the long run. You will know when the right time comes for you. And you will understand more once you get older. It's hard honey, I know.
