~Self Destruction~
by Jeniffer Brand (Age: 38)
copyright 10-17-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

You've fought so hard in life just to find you've gone nowhere!
Friends and family look into my eyes to find a tired empty stare.

You've lost that spark, hope, every energy that used to be you.
Anxiety attacks, depression, and crying is now what I do.

You still smile and laugh pretending that you're ok.
And no one sees the death that's making its slow way.

You're tired of fighting, struggling, and just want to give in.
Tired of waiting for "so called" miracles while giving up sin.

You wonder if this path is real and true in its giving.
As I sit and ponder about leaving the so called living.

Your spirit is broken, the confidence, self worth, everthing's gone.
Looking back to this life wondering where it all went wrong.

You're so self destructive and even hateful toward yourself.
God is so far away I can't see him or his wealth!

You try to hold on tight though your soul's sick and in pain.
Wondering about life's lesson and what I will eventually gain.

I wonder how much longer till death's at my door.
Knowing I want to die and fulfilling his score.

Will I ever recover to be the person I am?
Just look into my eyes and tell me I can!!

Wow! A phenomenal write! The emotion, the despair and anger, it bowled me over! And something I bow down to: the rhyming and word choice. Great poem! WOW!!! I'm speechless!

This poem is rich with emotion. The words seemed to flow nicely along and I could really relate to your poem. I, myself am a Mormon and have a strong faith in God and his son Jesus Christ and life after this life, but sometimes, even I have my weaknesses.Even if we make mistakes in life, we can always ask God for forgiveness and there is a good chance our sins will be washed away. Even if this poem is not about you, I want everyone to know they have a chance at life.

Your words scream, a feeling, imagination, creativity, expression, rich and deep, a write filled to the top, outstanding.. Walt

It never seems like it will get any better, but it's called growing pains. Not that you or I are not already grown, but our souls continue to stretch for reason where there seems to be none.
I too have thought all for nothing, but I try to remember this..
There must be a small miracle, something really good, waiting for me around the corner for the ol' devil to be trying so hard to make me miss it! All you have to do is believe and look for it! It's really something to look forward to.. not the end.
You have talent. Let's hear something a little lighter please! you're scarin' me here!

When at the end of the rope and holding on to the last knot, you are still holding on. You are the only one that can tell you, that you can make it. Because you are the only one that you will believe. I can tell you that you are working, you are living and that the only thing between you and that white picket fence could be answering the phone or the next person that stops in for a room. We never know, I met my wife at a bar and liked her sister. I asked Her to dance because her sister was already out on the floor. One Dance and the fireworks were going off and my eighth grandkid is on the way! I'll tell you any way...You can do it! Now get up, cause mickey loves ya!
