Worth The Cost

  Worth The Cost

Touched by flame,
a falling star.
Once so close,
now so far.

Days of old
and days of new.
Love things said
by me and you.

Some things lost
and some things found.
Things transfered
without a sound.

What boils down
between won and lost.
Is whether the win
is worth the cost.

Just don't let the fire die! No treasure is easily obtained, nor is it easily retained. You worked hard to start it, work hard to keep it. :-)

I think you already know the answer to this one, Anthony. If it's winning the argument, but losing the love, it's better to lose the argument!
Better yet, just stop and take a breath and try to get that star 'flamed up' again! Ya know? You are not as far apart as it seems. You just lost sight.

Does the end justify the means? I think that this poem asks that question, but in a nutshell. I think that this poem has unparalleled beauty and marvelous fluidity. I love the concept, ethical and esoteric in nature, cosmic in volume. It appears to be a simple poem, but it is not! It is complex and intriguing. Asking the us to choose our battles carefully, lest we lose the war and incur the cost. These are the types of poems that I love to read and write! Anthony, you were seriously inspired here and you have outdone yourself with this one!

I really like the last few lines, and I really like this poem XD

If it's love the win is worth the cost, because you'll have love love to heal all the wounds...not straight away but gradually. This is a good poem and flows nicely. Keep it up.

Most wins are worth the cost, especially when it comes to love. Nicely said.
I think "somethings" in this case should be two words "some things".

Very nice.
I like the first stanza the best.
