Regret
by Paul Gardner
copyright 11-07-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Am standing by a river
Were the water doesn't flow,
Past voices all around me,
Were life is forbidden to grow.

Standing beneath a street light,
And the light i know so well,
Looking up at the broken light,
Were that guiding light once fell.

Am standing by a highway,
This road i know so well,
I thought i heard it say,
This is the road to hell!

My throat jams up with credit,
And there's nothing i can do,
And life i wish i fed it,
Hoping i see this through.

Shadows in the distant sea,
And the sea i know so well,
Creeping up behind me,
This forsaken land i dwell!

Good poem! The flow is excellent and the feeling is very deep. I liked the way you described regret in the poem. There are a couple spelling problems...but I think you can edit on here.
Awesome job!

I like it, it flows really good and it does envoke a feeling of regret, and loss even. You obvioudly know to look at the spelling...but good job!
