Same Old Story
by Tiffany Forster (Age: 21)
copyright 12-10-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Same old story, let me tell you
This is how it goes;
Boy meets new girl, she is smitten
But he doesn’t know.
She is wishing he would see her
As more than just ‘a friend’
But he’s not looking at her that way
Won’t this nightmare end?
And time moves forward, hearts get broken
Now she’s on the mend
Vows to never let her heart be
Stepped upon again.
Temper’s rising, she gets colder
Finds herself alone
Keeps her distance, barbed with wire
Emotions she can’t condone.
As she watches from her tower,
High above the rest,
She sees a mirror, coloured amber
And makes herself its guest.
Within the mirror, she seeks some answers
And answers she does get
She sees a new girl, she is smiling
With a boy she’s met.
So she finds herself a ladder
And finds herself on ground
She smiles a little, laughs her heart full
Now look at what she’s found.
She’s a new girl, he’s the new boy
They’re happily in love
And from his tower, ever higher
The boy looks on above.
Same old story, let me tell you
This is how it goes…

This is another good poem. A little confusing at the end, though. I get how a boy would fall for the new girl, but you should know they never last. So the girl gets depressed. Typical. Then she goes through all of this stuff. I have seen it before. The boy only goes after new girls because they're something new to look at. That's why a lot of people in high school go after a few freshman because they're new and something new to look at, unless they knew them their whole lives then it's a little different. I don't exactly get a little bit of the poem, but I might get it if I had a relationship that ended. I never had a relationship to end in the first place. Well, talk to you later.

Wow what imagination! Did you plan this one or did it just come out in one of your dreams?
This one made me smile all over. Great open/close.

-swoons- -hic hic- -grips at keyboard and starts sweating- I like this so much! It's just like a summarization of a stereotypical fairy tale! Very good! -pats back- Keep writing!
