You ask what color would I be?
If I could be any color that I see.
I've read about "red",
but had to stop.
Held my breath till "blue",
head almost popped.
I've been "green" with envy,
"light green" when sick.
Seen rivers of "crimson"
from "rose" bush's prick.
The "black" sky above
with sparkles that twinkle.
"Rainbows" on the horizon
after a sprinkle.
"Oranges", "browns",
"yellows" that are bright.
I had a "Purple" sucker
that was a delight.
"Lavender" sounds so silly,
I'd never be "pink."
"Auburn" is not my color,
what do you think?
"Gold" seems to rich,
it's a "gray" line about "silver."
Preferably not "white"
like Charlotte's pig Wilbur.
So your question goes unanswered,
by me tonight.
It seems my favorite color
has escaped my sight.
I'll try again tomorrow
to find an answer for you.
Now I've got to catch a wink,
my mind is "Black and Blue."

BLUE

I wonder what color I'd be
if I had to choose just one
I like many and varied colors
illuminated by the sun
Though I often try to portray
a pretty rosy image of life
I know there's often pain
appearing in my writes of strife
I could be a simple black
angst ridden through and through
But that just wouldn't be right
to depress my readers and you
Too many times envy rides
in ribbons of greens unkown
Jealousy's a terrible thing
and rots us to the bones
A fearful forboding dread
of the future'll make you scared
So yellow would reveal my fears
and admit that I once cared
And though I may not be happy
with the way things are in life
I'd never be so blood red angry
so as to solve it witha knife
I guess, though blue is often sad
I'd still have to choose that for me
For it's often contemplative too
depicting the sky, blue eyes, and the sea
I've heard of parts of the body being black and blue, but the mind? C'mon, Anthony, for crying out loud! Laugh out loud! This is certainly a cute write, childish-like and very colorful, no pun intended. This is my favorite line, "The "black" sky above with sparkles that twinkle." Very nicely done!
Black and blue! You have turned many shades through this, but my favorite line is 'it's a gray line about silver'. I'd of never thunk it!
You've tickled me once again!
Debbie
Written with you usual cleverness and sense of humor...And I agree with the point you made, I don't know if I would ever be able to pick a favorite color either. I do think you have covered just about the whole crayola box though.
