Life of a Poet
by Tiffany Forster (Age: 21)
copyright 10-28-2005

Age Rating: 7 to 127

As if to fall from Heav’n to earth
To be born, or to give birth
To create art, or it you
To finally know what you should do
To sing a song, of love and life
To live a life of grief and strife
To see a world born anew
To see a dream that up and flew
To be in darkness, yet know there’s light
To find a cause that’s worth the fight
To know a dreamer that never failed
To see hope that took up and sailed
To see the moon and that drop of fate
To know you’ve come one minute too late
To have a tale and finally show it
For ‘tis the life of a poet.

((Umm, this is really old, but I like it... when I say old, I mean like five years...:D))

What a great poem, I myself hardly ever know what I am going to write about, even after I begin writing. It seems for the most part they write themselves, I'm just along for the ride. And for that reason I have a very difficult time commenting on another's work. For I often realize that sometimes I just don't know what they mean. As to their punctuation, last year when I began writing I did not know a verb from a constant. But I learned. fred

You also amaze me, as does this poem which so elegently captures the true spirit of the poet.

Elegently expressed!

I think this says it all. Poets are a strange group of people, seeing things quite differently than most.

I think we're on the same wave-length.

Tiffany, I've fallen in love with your works. This is beautiful and breathtaking, and oh-so-true. There is so much in this world that inspires poets, and this is something that puts to words what many cannot say. Ah, the cursed mind of an artist :P lol, great work!

I really like your description of not just a poet, but any artist. This was very light and thoughtful. Good job!

I don't know if I like the part that says I have to live a life of grief and strife, but I guess until I hit the lotto that is what I'm doing! LOL this is a really good description of a poet. Good job, Anthony
