Message To Heaven
by Emily Garwood (Age: 21)
copyright 11-06-2005

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Grandad, Grandad
You're not going to believe,
I have a baby boy that I want you to see,
And he's just like me.

Grandad I wish you could hold him,
Give him your famous smile,
Tell him your stories of the great wars,
Or how it was in the olden days.

Grandad,
Teach him to play the organ,
Let him count from the penny jar,
Take the toys from the cereal box.

Can we go to the beach?
Play in the sand?
Collect the shells.
Build sand castles.

Dear Grandad,
remember the trains,
We saw them from the window.
Remember your garden; and the competitions.

You were my world,
Iwish you were his,
Just watch over him,
Make sure he's never alone.

This poem was well written. The story had a lot of meaning to it and I thought it was very heartwarming in it's contexts. You grabbed my attention with this one and can call me sentimental if you wish. I really enjoy reading poems that can grab my emotions and this piece just did that very thing. I enjoyed it a lot and appreciate the write very much. Keep it up. Ernie.

This poem probably reminds a lot of people of their great ancestors and how they wish their children could have known them. This poem reminds me of the people that have passed on in my life and I sometimes wish that they could be here to see our family grow up.

Your Granfather must have been very special for you to write this lovely little prayer of a poem. If you pass his teachings and your memories on to your son...he will be all the better for knowing of the special bond you had with your grandfather.

I miss my grandfather also and have prayed to heaven for him to watch over my children. This is a great poem for him and your baby! Anthony
