Hello Roger: there's more to this poem than meets the eye or mind! You've woven a web of intrigue using an interesting metaphor. I love your drawing as well! The illustration and words fit together very nicely.

I enjoyed reading this little poem. Believe it or not it really told a small but complete story with the ending being up to the reader to decide. Excellent write and will read more of your work soon.

I really like this simple diddy. It made me smile... then I read David's comment...
I am not going to worry about what, or even who, is out there wishin, I know I'd be wrong! I want to believe that Daddy Longlegs is up to stitchin on Mommy Longlegs and she's out there wishin he would come on with it! But, then again, I'm in a mood today, so I might be 'projecting', as Gina would say...
And besides, I am really more concerned with David's pulling their legs off! LOL!! It makes no sense!!! Was he scared that badly? or jealous? Or did he have no sisters with Barbie Dolls to pull their heads off, like my own brother... THAT'S what's gonna keep me up at nights.. wondering what is up with David and pulling the legs off of spiders! It's just not right, David! LOL!!!!(wiping tears, giggling, sniffling)

I get a picture of David with head in hand, wondering what Mommy long legs is thinking. What else is there to do when retired! LOL This is a cute poem and I was shocked it wasn't deeper coming from Roger and no big words. Out of the norm for you, but done very well! Anthony

This is really cute, but I'm not sure what Mommy Longlegs is wishin'. Is she wishin' for food to be trapped in Daddy Longleg's web, or is he making a nest for Mommy to have babies?
I know it is strange how my mind works, but when I was a kid, I would just pull the legs off Daddy Longlegs and be done with it.
