No Love Song For Us (Sonnet-ish)
by Mary -BrytEyz- Ball (Age: 39)
copyright 10-01-2001

Age Rating: 7 to 127

There are songs to say "I love you"
and songs that say "It's over"...
but of all the songs I've heard,
I've never heard a love song that speaks about us.
------------------------------------------------------

I could say our love will stand like mountains
Or blow like winds in a tornado,
But mountains crumble down to the sea and
Winds disappear to wherever they go.

Can't I say there is nothing like our love,
There's nothing as sweet and nothing as strong?
Nothing below us, and nothing above
Could ever come close to tagging along.

If our mountains may form a crack or two
Or loving winds start to fade from our sails,
We can patch them together - me and you;
Breathe our own breath, whatever that entails.

So when I say there's no love song for us,
You know there never will be - never was!

These are just some assorted thoughts
found in their original form below...
I'm still working on this ...
so any input would be greatly appreciated!

I could say our love
Will stand like the mountains
Or blow like the winds
Inside a tornado

But mountains crumble
To the depths of the sea
And winds disappear
To wherever they go

I can honestly say
There's nothing like our love
Because nothing's as sweet
And nothing's as strong

No, nothing below us
Nor anything above
Could ever come close
Or even tag along

And if our mountains
May form a crack or two
Or the winds of love start
To fade from our sails

Let's glue them together,
Together me and you
We'll blow the sails ourselves
Whatever that entails

So when I say there's
No love song for us
I mean there never will be-
No, there never was!

And for some FOOLISH reason...
I thought that love would last.
Alas... it did not. So, perhaps I was wrong.
The love songs everyone sings,
about temporary and unimpressive things...
surely and accurately reflected
just what song our love now sings.

You know, I should date my thoughts and replies
so I can look upon the paths I've traveled to simply meditate,
or decide if I should walk down them again sometime in the future.
:-)

I feel today that the love doesn't really fade,
though the circumstances allowing us to express that love
(or not) may change. Perhaps the backdrop of the portrait changes,
but the subject remains the same. (Sounds like... Led Zep... ? LOL)

Love is a feeling that needs to be expressed. Unfortunantly sometimes love takes the express and we are left with the mast still up and a sale in our face! Good write, Anthony ( I'd rewrite this for you, but why? Thier gone and so is the insperation.)
