The Dreamer
by Ernest Lozon (Age: 54)
copyright 12-15-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Dreams are emotions from ones inner mind,
reflecting events from the past of time.
Bringing forth images of futuristic ideas,
focusing them into a form of reality.

Dreams can bring sorrow to a persons wellbeing,
allowing horrifying mishaps take over their lives.
Others bring happiness into some peoples heart,
through endless thoughts of passion and love.

Dreams are believed to dwell in the darkness of night,
but can be found lurking about during the tour of day.
Most of us strive to live the life of our dreams.
Others remain content dreaming about their lives.

Our human nature allows us to envision,
into certain areas that appear to exist.
We must not mistake dreams with reality,
for then we become nothing but a dreamer.

(SIGH)... but I LOVE being a dreamer... reality is no boring and often unkind! :-) LOL... I just wanted to drop by and thank you for commenting on my poems before. I've been absent for a bit and I apologize for that. But I will be back more often now. Take care and keep writing and sharing. :-)

Some great thoughts and descriptions.
Could use more metaphors, meter and rhymes.

Interesting ideas here, though some of the lines seemed obscure or redundant. I like the spark of philosophical debate that can be raised here; I'm not sure "dreams," or at least one's subjectivity can ever be separated drom "reality" "out there." This brings up epistemological and metaphysical questions that have fascinated philosophers and poets for centuries. You have a lot you could continue to work from here.
