Humor Of A Knight
by Ernest Lozon (Age: 54)
copyright 12-06-2005

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Standing so tall
Hope I won't fall
Armor so bright
Feeling kind of tight

Time to go
Hunt down my foe
Damsel's in distress
Hope she's wearing dress

Climb on horse
Much faster of course
Speed up pace
Turn it into race

Enemy in sight
Get ready to fight
Drawing my sword
Must not get bored

Think I'm hit
Time to use wit
Bringing out lance
Maybe my last chance

Battle now finished
The enemy all diminished
I'm feeling fine
Must return, drink wine

Damsel's on horse
Much faster of course
Sitting so tall
Hope I won't fall

Humourous and clever ending-- how the most difficult part of the deed is keeping his prize, now that he's got it. The diction and syntax work well with the theme, too.

Heh, I love the last line...something that Im sure all knights hoped didnt happen to them. I like this poem, and Anthonys right, should have used the lance first, but oh well. -hands him a marshmellow cookie-

Forget the damsel, just drink the wine! Women are too much trouble, lol. Wine doesn't give you grief or talk back.
