The Agreement
by Roger Crique (Age: 51)
copyright 12-01-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Ah, this journey of mine
So treacherous indeed
It sure makes me think
That I did not affirm

But I did contribute
To this hellish state
I was in the know
When I was not yet formed

I am a torn page
Of the book of the living
For I see what has not been shown
Now that I am
I have forgotten it all

So I cry in vain
For I must endure
What I once wrote
And forever keep
What was then my word!

When it’s all lost
And nothing seems to abate
Remember that you had a choice
To remain in your stay
Lest your trek shall begin again

Interesting topic to write on. I read through this poem twice and I have to admit, you did indeed cover the agreement and what it's all about in it's entirety, quite well. I could follow your story right from the start and your words meant well throughout. I enjoyed this read very much and now I completely understand what an agreement is all about. Well done, Ernie.

Think of an agreement you signed before you were born, this will give you insight into this poem.
