Hell Slash and Heaven Blast
After Kikeru finished the sickening story she told tears were rolling down her checks.
"How the heck are people born of Shadow!?" I asked shocked.
"Some souls that Shadites steal are reborn in darkness." Lucigde added sadly.
"Then Secu's soul could be..." I trailed off wishing it weren't so.
"Yes. Secu's soul could have been reborn into a Shadow Heart." Lucidge said sadly.
"No..." I trailed off.
"Shadow Hearts have more more than a normal Shadeite and they look exactly like humans." Kikeru said blankly.
"So I might have to kill the person her soul is reborn into..." I said wonderingly.
"Zero. We can't train any longer. I'll teach you along the way but now we need to get going. Only a Blade Master can kill Dos Voo Danue... The Shadow Lord. And since your the wielder of The Blade it's up to you." Lucidge said sternly standing up, looking me straight in the eye.
"Ok. When do we leave?"
"In the morning. You should rest up tonight so we'll be ready to head to Morriteen."
"Morriteen?"
"The next town over the the west."
"Ok got it."
"Well we've waited enough time you were asleep for two days after that battle."
"Get some more rest, and then we'll go." Kikeru said then adding, "Goodnight." she said closing the door.
"I need to get the blood off my sword so it doesn't rust. It still hasn't come off yet. SO I need to go too." She said walking to the door. As she was opening it to leave i cut in,
"Hey Lucidge wait a second."
"What?"
"Why did Kikeru start crying when she started talking about Shadow Hearts?" I asked and as she answered her face darkened.
"Don't tel Kikeru I told you this, but she was once in love with a Shadow Heart and when her father found out he killed him, during a Shadow Raid. He thought he was trying to hurt Kikeru but he was only protecting her. She had fallen in love with one of the few good Shadow Hearts. Now just go to sleep and stop bugging me." She said walking out closing the door a little hared than necessary.
I didn't know I had fallen asleep when I was woken up by Lucidge poking my with her scabbard again. And it hurt just as much this time as it did that time. After a few minutes of continuous poking, she finally yelled,
"Zero wake you you lazy bum!"
I blinked a few times and wondered where I was and remembered the recent events and came out of the weird dreams I was having.
"Hmm... What time is it?"
"Almost dawn." She responded annoyed. "Now get your sword and meet me at the front gates in five minutes. She said walking out of the small one room cabin. I grumbled a few seconds about the bruise I got were she poked me as I grabbed my sword and fitted in into my scabbard. I walked out and headed to the front but Lucidge and Kikeru were waiting had frozen in place.
"What's up?" I asked them wondering what was up.
"Shat up a second." Lucidge said tensing. Kikeru drew a arrow and fitted it to the bow she had in her hand an shot it straight up. A two huge things all, black and were about the size of twenty sky scrapers emerged from the ground along with thousand of smaller ones. They must be Shadows...
"Damn! A Shadow rain!" Lucidge called out drawing her sword.
"Zero are you ready?" Kikeru asked fitting another arrow in her bow.
"How the heck can you be read for something like this!?" I called out drawing my sword also.
"Tough luck! Here they come!" Lucidge called out as they rushed at us. The one came shooting our way and the other smashed half of the town with a swift shift of it's tail. The smaller Shadows were going after the people. The one rushing at us gained hight, for it had huge black wings, and smashed the hospital behind us. At least that's what I though it was. Then both of the Shadows held up a hand-- uh... paw, and with that all the people of the town fell small silver crystals flying out of there bodies. A hole appeared were a heart should be in the large Shadows and all the crystals flew in. For a moment the Shadows were glowing black, and seemed to be gaining even more power. Even though they seemed, to have enough already. The bodies fell to the ground dead. I remembered what Lucidge had said, "Leaving a soulless shell." The words were still with me. The two huge things turned to us and launched themselves like missiles. I hopped Slash Off would at least stun them, but I didn't have too much hope, But I knew I had to try something. I rose my sword high above my head, and when I brought it down a huge red Slash Off emerged. It broke into two and the haves were as big at the Shadits. They destroyed them with a flash of light and the soul crystals freed, disappeared with a flash of dark light.
I looked at the huge stators that the blasts had created. I was panting and felt like I couldn't do another Slash Off if my life was on the line.
"I don't believe it..." Lucidge trailed off.
"Zero... You just performed... Hell Slash..." Kikeru said stunned.
"Hell Slash..." I muttered to myself.
Later at one of the cottages still intact we were talking about what had happened. Or more descriptively Lucidge and Kikeru were giving me one of the many long and winded explanations of the world, Shadow, me, and my Sword.
"Zero, as I said you just did the Blade Of Light And Darkness's strongest of attacks. Hell Slash, when the Blade summons the fires of Hell and launched them forward killing what eves in it path cold." Lucidge said seriously.
"But...How...? I've only been percussing Slash Off for one day! How could I do such a powerful attack?"
"I'm not really sure..." Lucidge trailed off.
"Hell Slash and Heaven Blast are the third strongest attacks the Blade can do. The second strongest are Hell's Door and Heaven Blast. Each draws the obvious power to the Blade and the launches it at your enemy. When all fought attacks are mastered the Blade will transform into The Blade of Heaven and Hell." Kikeru said sternly.
"What's the strongest?" I asked them.
"That information is still unknown." Lucidge said snapping out of her thoughts.
My brain hurt. I knew that Lucidge and Kikeru had to be sad being the fact that all the people they knew were killed and their villages was destroyed. And what about the bodies? Who's going to take care of them?
"We leave in the morning." Lucidge said leaving all sadness behind. "We will alert the people of Morriteen about the bodies." Lucidge added as if she could read my mind.
"Till then, we still need to wait till morning." Kikeru said looking up at me. "You should get some rest. I'm sure using hell Slash must of tired you out. You have only had the Blade for under two days."
"Yeah you're right, I guess." I walked off to the destroyed cabins, were Kikeru directed me. I was surprised how fast i fell asleep not even noticing that I did. When I woke up I felt the now mornly scabbard poking me in the back. And I knew it was futile to try to swat it away. But why her scabbard? And not just her finger? Does she think I have some kind of idiot despise that she doesn't want to catch? I guess I should be glad it's the scabbard and not the blade point... I sat up yauning and, stretching.
"Come one get our sword, and meet me and Kikeru at the front gate."
"Uh..okay..."
As she was walking off I was surprised that she was so... Not... mean... I wonder if she's feeling okay? Then again then I would be pretty depressed if New York city was smashed too. But for all I know it is...I stood up picking up my sword and fitting the scabbard into my belt. I walked to the front gate were Lucidge and Kikeru were waiting. there were bodies strewn about, all bloodless and they seemed like they shouldn't be dead yet... Like their bodies were perfectly fine only their souls was gone. I tried not to look at the not-ready-to-die dead bodies as I walked to were Lucidge and Kikeru stood waiting.
"Let's go. We can make it to Morriteen by night fall." Lucidge said looking out at the grassy fields ahead of us. With one last painful look at the destroyed village we set off to Morriteen with new goals in mind.
We had walked all day in silence, till it was twilight and the sun sank behind the mountains in the far distance.
"Damn... The Shadows will be coming out soon..." Lucidge cursed looking over to where the sun had been only a few minutes ago. In the next few seconds the sky went black. Unnaturally fast. The ground around us went back and thousands of small Shadows emerged from the depths of Shadow. Lucidge drew get sword ready for battle, as Kikeru fitted an arrow to her bow. I also drew my sword not thinking I could do much good if I couldn't use hell Slash.
"Zero! You need to use Hell Slash!" Lucidge said bring down her sword down on a Shadite killing a few at once.
"But I don't know how! I didn't know how the first time I did it! It was all luck!
"Zero, try Heaven Blast!" Kikeru yelled shooting another arrow. "It's an attack for a desperate battle, you don't need to be mad as entailed for Hell Slash!"
I gripped the hilt of the Blade hopping this would work. As I did the hilt began to glow and it spread to the Blade.I held it up above my head and yelled,
"Heaven Blast!" As I did Light came raining down from the sky obliterating the Shadows. I was panting and shocked at what I had down. Unlike Hell Slash Heaven Blast left no mark on the ground. Even though I felt even more drained.
"Zero, lets keep moving." Lucidge said not replacing her sword in her scabbard as I had hopped.
"That was only the first stark. More should be coming very soon. Let us go now."
"The first strike?" I asked worriedly.
"Zero, you go. Me and Kikeru will take care of the rest." Lucidge said sternly.
"What!? You can't fight them alone, you'll be killed!"
"We can't let them level Morriteen just like Justureen..." Lucidge said looking down.
"But you'll be killed!"
"Zero. You' re the only one of us that life matters." Kikeru said looking at me sadly.
"You're the Blade Master of The Blade of Light and Darkness." Lucidge said turning around to face me.
"But, I just can't leave you behind! It's suicide!"
"Just go Damn it! We don't have much time!" Lucidge said whipping around away from me.
"Zero...go." Kikeru said sadly drawing a arrow from the cylinder that held them.
It hurt to but I turned in the other direction. I started to run as the ground went black. The Shadows were coming. When they stopped and I had escaped them for the moment, I slowed down and then stopped. I realized that I couldn't leave Lucidge and Kikeru behind. Even if I had only known them for a short time but I can't. I looked back and started to run back to where they were futilely fighting. When I did I saw Lucidge holding a blood wound on her sword arm.
"Zero! Why did you come back!?" Kikeru said fitting another arrow to her bow, and shooting it.
The only thing that hit my mind were the words,
"Heaven Blast!" The light came raining down again much harder this time and it killed all the Shadows and left a creator in the ground. I was panting hard, and knew that was the last of the Shadow... For tonight that is...
