I try to hold your hand, but something’s missing,
To hold you in my arms, but something’s wrong,
I cannot seem to touch,
The one I love so much,
I try to hold your hand, but something’s missing.
I try to kiss your lips, but I’m not able,
To run my fingers through your lovely hair,
I cannot seem to touch,
The one I love so much,
I try to kiss your lips, but I’m not able.
I look into your eyes, but cannot focus,
You’re drifting in and out, just like a fog,
I wish that you could see,
Just what you mean to me,
I look into your eyes, but cannot focus.
I’ll live my daily life with dreams about you,
Although I’ll never know your perfect love,
I wish that you could see,
Just what you mean to me,
I’ll live my daily life with dreams about you.
When time on earth is done and I’m in Heaven,
In one thing I will always have regret,
Eternally I’ll miss,
The one I want to kiss,
When time on earth is done and I’m in Heaven.

Sometimes I think there may have been better choices than the ones I took and if I could go back...but I can't. The love of a good woman is a wonderful thing and I have no regrets about the one I have chosen to share my life! Alas there was a woman once that I dreamed about, but the dream was perfect and she may not have been. So to keep the fantasy, I must not experience the dream in real life. You see we put or desires upon pedestals, but they are only desires. People get faint at the sight of a movie star, but they are only people. They have the same troubles that everyone else does and if you don't believe that pick up a copy of the national enquirer on sale at your local grocery store! Do I wish I had kissed her, only in the dream. Your story is another good one and like Roger said, it did make me start thinking about it. Thank You, Anthony
This piece is definitely interesting, I'm trying to figure out who it is that you're missing. Is it a loved one, a ghost? I can't pin-point it. You have some very peculiar lines, here, such as: "I’ll live my daily life with dreams about you," and "In one thing I will always have regret, Eternally I’ll miss, The one I want to kiss," You also repeat many of your lines and that's peculiar in your writing. Well, this one has me thinking and because it has me thinking of the theme, form and fluidity, I guess you've done your job! After all, that's what a poem is supposed to do, make us think! Hmm, Interesting!
