Hello

I can give you the morning
Serving it up with sunshine
Through the portal to the universe which is the window
Of my little log cabin in the woods
It's a bright day, therefore
The window is clear and bright
Without obstruction by my reflection

The scene is clear as a baby's tear
No reflection real or imagined
To obstruct the wooded view
And I can get boyishly lost in the forest
And the sprightly spirits which abide there
Along with an obnoxious raccoon or two
I see that sunshine has buttered the landscape
As if preparing breakfast for its many crusty critters
Look! the mountain wears his apron of green
Life moves across my window pane
As if motion were life's essence
And catching a babbling brook in a pail of water
Is like catching your life in analysis
My morning overflows with teeming life
And God says, "This is good"
And I quite agree

Please, have a cup of coffee
And enjoy the day with me
Sharing morning's toast and butter
As together we explore the world
Unlimited by our own reflections
Do you feel a part of the earth?
As though you don't exist without it
As though nothing exists separately
As though the world is us and we the world?

As clear the window, so we see
Unobstructed by self-reflection
We cannot stand in our own way
The secrets of children, are not secrets at all
They simply live, without reflecting
On the day, so
For happiness' sake
Look through the window on a clear morn'
Well, I'm off to take a walk.....
Enjoy your day!

Oh! Hi again, I offer you the evening
The clouds towing shadows across the hills
As a mist settles down in my valley
Like it was sliding into a comfy old chair
My dimming window casts a nascent reflection
Well some thing's lost and found in that
Though the world finds itself in a deepening shade
I can yet see "God in his Heaven!"
Morning's child is lost, but she'll return
Perhaps tomorrow

Like a light mist-haze
I glimpse the wood, through my reflection
Which alikeness is real?
A feeling of oneness remains quite here
My mind's eye blinks a world into being
And becomes a connecting bridge to you
I see that all strangers
Are brothers and sisters
Quarrelsome though they may be

Contemplation aside, it's enough
To chat with my friends over dinner and drink
To speak, listen, touch, taste, and smell
With discriminating appreciation
Of life, and all that it is, and isn't
For pleasure's sake, poignancy's sake
Whatever illusion the world might present
Whatever the mysteries
We're all here together
That's real as it needs to be, yet one wonders!

Take careful fix through the window at evening
Oh well, enlightenment
Is washing the dinner dishes...
Talk to you later

Hello
Are you there?
I can see nothing outside
Through my window.
It's pitch black out there.
My reflection sits in the window
As the full moon sits in the sky
I am totally self-reflected
Alone with myself
I am still in touch with you
United by air, earth, and water
Transcending all icons

Night is the time of reflection
Meditation, drawing into my
Innermost self
Feeling that I'm important
Only through my ubiquitous relationships
Realizing that I'm a mystery
Unknown...
Like the shooting star that just
Scratched it's fire across the sky
Reminding me of my mortality
I'm like a spark that comes and goes
Against the background of eternal darkness
A brief reflection
Of all that exists
At any rate,for Heaven's sake
Look out of your window at night
Take good care of yourself
Perhaps we'll meet someday
On a little dirt road that zig-zags off
In search of adventure
Until then we'll meet in this parlor-room poem
I'm going to pull my curtains now
I'm sleepy.....

Good Night!

You have a masterpiece here I see... It is a beautiful one. You are a good writer. One of the few that stand out.
Thanks for sharing.

This paints such interesting pictures of life. As Angela says, It's long, but so are some of the poems of famous authors. I found this to be a painting with words.
