What are you looking at?
by Roger Crique (Age: 51)
copyright 12-27-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I am angry at you
For I told you who I was
And now you hesitate
You look into my eyes and see the devil?

I cannot go on like this
I sense everything is lost
And I will not go out on a limb
I will save you!

I will save you from myself
And set you free with the wind
Flow wherever you may
For I will not confine your restless ways

I have been honest
Truthfulness in my eyes
But I don’t know what you’re looking at
Perhaps you’re seeing my soul

I cannot look inside of me
I can only tell you what I feel
If what I feel and what I am are two different things
Then so be it

Follow the wind
Take to the night’s skies
Fly beyond the horizon
I will not be there to cushion your fall

Find yourself in me and then you will finally see what I'm actually looking at when I'm looking at you. Look at my face my whole face. Now do you see what you are suppose to see? I love you but I have to go, and so the story goes... haha I love it still, great write, good job, thanks

Your words speak to me. Lately I have been feeling the same thing. I want to know what people see of me or if what they see is really me.Life would be much easier if you could look into the minds of people around you and to understand what they think of the world and the people in it, this way you could make the world better for the eyes of the beholder.

It is hard to open up freely and honestly, then be rejected because that person sees something that is not there. Yes, it is hard, but it is always best to be true to one's self, regardless of the outcome.
I can feel the frustration is this write.

It is always hard to know what it is others see, you never know if it what you see, or presume you know to see, or something entirly different.
Good poem, made me think.

Cheers!

sadly there are people who do not except people for who they are, for what they do etc and they hesitate thats what hurts most though isnt it when you tell the truth; show yourself and they don't like it....but you have to be strong and stay yourself because there are many people in the world who will like you...good poem well written. good luck

Emy
