Why must he rip my frail heart asunder?
Cast it aside with no care of my world
Built around him, now destroyed by thunder
As it crumbles down, my dreams now unfurled
As sweet death doth beckon its ever calm
Rest to me, I shall fall like the dead star
To the world below: into Hades’ palm
I shall cast myself so I fall too far
Away from his cruel eyes and tearing words
To a place of rest and blue waters clear
Amongst the flowers and willows and birds
Where I rest forever away from fear
Into the water, I go forever
Ties between love and life I now sever.
((Did this for a grade 12 English assaignment. I cleaned it up a bit, and now, here it is! -mock bow-))
