We regret--because we long
And yet how many times
Did we forget to share
And let the chance go by
To treasure then our now lost friends
And pleasure just in knowing them
And measure but the value of their life
In leisure now we longingly repent
How I conspire to revise their demise,
I require absolution for not making restitution,
Now they retire and my longing is prolonging
As I aspire to forget my regret
We regret--because we long
And in debt I join the burial throng
No use to fret, yet I regret in time I will
Forget---the words that longed to be within this poem

Such deep darkness... We all regret doing something one way, for if we had done it another we think it might of been better. But think of the ripple affect. For everything good that happens, something equally bad shall accrue. For something bad that happens something in equal value shall result. You've got friends here, and I'm one of them.
You don't need all the ---'s but other than that the grammar is perfect.
Drawing near, we are here, just open your eyes and see us...
