My Friends
by Katie Langolf (Age: 22)
copyright 12-30-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

They are the reason I am strong,
They are the reason I am brave,
They are there to help heal scars
That refuse to go away.

My friends mean the world to me,
And that is a fact.
They have shown me kindness and support
When others would turn their back.

They are there when I am lonely,
They are there when I am sad,
They are there when I am at my weakest
And trying hard to look glad.

My friends are always with me,
Through thick and through thin,
In flesh and bone
And most of all, within.

For though I may seem alone
In truth I am not,
For they are also there in spirit
To guide me when I’m lost.

The sentiments are warm and straight from the heart. I didn't get a chance to meet you while you were here and I'm sorry I didn't. I think I would have liked you very much.

Best wishes,

Rich

I like this it's a true piece about true friendship. threw thick and thin good and bad I can't say I have had any friendships like that I have wrecked a lot of friendships but this is about true friendship I like it great job.

These lines were written just for me, I think.
"For though I may seem alone
In truth I am not,
For they are also there in spirit"

As for my friends, I lost so many of them -- moved away so often -- that I cherish the one I still have.

Good poem. Thank you.

Pierre

Most of my friends are members of this site. I have been very busy lately and haven't been reading as much. I hope they will still love me. I like your poem, Anthony

I have had many friends in my life, and lost more than I can count (mostly due to my own fault :P ) but I do understand this incredibly. My closest friends I have now are the few people who make my heart beat, and give me hope. They're my strength when I feel like I have none. This was a beautiful work!

A sentiment well put. To have a true friend, even only one, is to have someone to treasure.
You find your real friends when the going gets rough. They can be the crutch to help get you through.
Brian.

The spirit of the poem is great.
It speaks from your heart.
I wish the words and word order were a bit more rhythmical.
Good write!

Rich
