Welcome the New Year
by Mehrina B. (Age: 13)
copyright 01-01-2006

Age Rating: 1 to 127

It’s New Year!
We have every reason to be ecstatic!
Or do we?
What about 2005?
It’s gone
No more…
And we still have 2007 to wait for
Then 2008
It goes on
So why are we cheering?
Why are we greeting 2006 so warmly
When the entire future awaits?
The entire future, who knows what it holds
The pain and agony
But there’s also the happiness and joy
The surprises that are to come
Not all of them are good
But I love surprises
So
Welcome 2006
Welcome to the present

Great Job, Mehrina! I thought it was really good! I liked how in the end it said: Welcome 2006, Welcome to the present!

I thought it was really powerful, meaningful, and fun. I don't know why, but it most definately was! It flowed and I thought it was really great!

Bow down to Mehrina, People!

All Hail Mehrina!! lol

Its 2006
7 is next
but we can't worry about tomorrow.
Feel the cheer
were all here
no need to think about sorrow
have some fun
in the sun
and laugh all you can
were behind you
in all you do
Were sort of our own Klan!

Nicely written poem and
very philosophical for one your age.
The past is behind and who knows what the future holds, so
let's enjoy the present moment.

Very nice! I may of been first, but alas, mine sucks and isn't dark whatsoever. :( But I was first! :p Well this was a very good poem. I can't ell it was spur of the moment at all! The fact that you got darkness in here was really nice...your's is much better than mine! When I was working on the final chapter of Shadow Souls I took a break listened to my whole CD, by Utada Hikura, she is the BEST and I though about everything about 2005. All the big and small. This is a very nice and creative poem!
