Sock It To Ya

  Sock It To Ya

You put me into the wash
along with my other half.
I was smelly and I was dirty
in desperate need of a bath.

Soap and water spinning around
shaking me all about.
Then just before I was done
you added a little "Shout"

Now I'm smelling pretty good
just like a summers breeze.
Out of one tub, into the other,
drying me, just like you please.

Somewhere something happened
I didn't get paired with my mate.
I found myself behind the dryer
thinking this is going to be great.

I saw you looking everywhere
except where I was at.
In the washer, then the dryer
you even accused the cat!

Here I am, I'm over here!
I've fallen into this nook.
Can't you see me over here,
all you have to do is look.

I don't know what I will do,
as you leave and turn out the light.
I've always been in a pair,
but I know this isn't right.

Never worried being under foot.
Didn't care how you walked on me.
never thought I'd be this way.
The missing sock, you didn't see.

The title is very cute and original. I really enjoyed this poem. It's like something you would read to a kid; funny and smart. You could write children's books if you wanted to.

this is very interesting and i agree with david...(there is no one else to agree or disagree with) interesting to compare a erlationship to a pair of socks...so everyone in life is a missing sock untill they find their pair...kinda cute in a way lol i like the poem keep up the good work and an interesting picture too!!!!

I know this is about a missing sock, and it really is cute, but in some strange way, it could also pertain to a married relationship.
On another note, why is it you only see one shoe on the freeway?
