Dedicated to my beloved

To understand love is to understand you
To understand you is to understand love
Each cannot be known by just knowing
Each must be felt,to be understood
And the feeling known to me as happiness.
Bubbles up like a warm spring within
And, unfurls itself as the morning rose
Spreading upon each rise of your breast
It's your breath that gives us both, life
What you are to me can never be spoken
and, though my senses are great
And, offer my one means of sincere affection
They are diminished a thousandfold
By that sudden surge of heart-rise
Which enkindles, whenever you come,
Heart-sink, whenever you go
My feeling of love expresses itself to me
And, I dearly hope to you
By the uncontrollable urge to smile
At the very thought of you
Its true that the smile may be silent
Yet, what passion is created
By the upturned lip
Of a tender loving smile!
Oh, what mystery is love!
To let you know of my love,
For now and forevermore:

The best thing I ever read (and I have read much) about love is Franz Rosenzweig's rhapsody on the Song of Songs in Star of Redemption. Your first stanza encapsulates his theme of "Instantiation."
In another place in "Star", he puts it this way:
"Woman is aroused by man, and man submits to woman. But even as they marvel at each other, the solution and dissolution of their wonder is at hand –the love which has befallen them. They are no longer a wonder to each other; they are in the very heart of wonder."
This poem is a nice "instantiation" -an insider's POV- of that idea.
Rich,
your poem seems to echo the very first fruits of a love that has grown and blossomed into a long lasting marriage overflowing with the smiles and laughter shared by two. Your Juney is a lucky woman.

Dear Ricky - Tammy's right - I'm melting, and good thing from a beautiful poem, and not from a bucket of water. Your words magic. Thanks, sweetie xo Juney
This is such a gentle piece which contains warmth and so much love and when you talk about just thinking in this person makes you smile it's so true....this is a very good piece im glad i decided to go to your book section now i guess i got a few more things to read keep up the good work...
This makes me smile so much. You have expressed your love in such delicate detail. This work literally radiates your feelings! It is so romantic and deep. It is the epitome of excellence. It makes me wish that my boyfriend could write.
Did you find the answer that you speak? Do she know why your heart beats, do you take her breath away, does she listen when you say stay. My dear Richard, you don't know how happy I am for you, if what you say is really true, I wish you the best of luck, and hope all is well, lol, my lol, if you know what that means to me, any way, Great write, touched me deep, good job, thanks,
Romantically sweet, your feelings for the one you love are very clear. Your words are sensitive yet passionate. The Chinese believe there is not one thing in existence that stands alone. Everything has it's place in the universe.Like the sun and the moon, the yin and yang are opposite, yet they match together perfectly.
