With bow and taut string well in hand
I felt assured that I had the best man
Cupid, the archer never questioned the game
He simply asked me where he should aim
I pointed out quickly a young maiden fair
And bid him aim his love arrow toward there
For never an eye had beheld before
Such an enchanting beauty and more
The arrow loosed in fine true arc
Was surely to find it's intended mark
But rather than drink now, I purely thirst
Another's marked shaft had struck her first

Very nice poem.I liked the way it rhymed.I also like the story of it.The way it explains how and where to aim the arrow.Choose the target carefully and make sure that it is worth everything you've got.~ashley
It's best to wait for the right one to come along, than get 'trigger happy' and hit the wrong one. Take a slow aim and make sure the target is the one you want to hit.
I like this poem of unrequited love. It rhymes nicely and is unforced, except that I thought the second line in the second stanza could have sounded better. Nice job, otherwise.
