Each Time You Win
by Richard Reed Jr
copyright 02-19-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I win today! I win today!
Canceling out defeats of yesterday
The day before escapes my mind
For the game's sake I flirt
For the game's sake I hurt
In the end we all must pay the freight in kind

And life is but the universe at romp
Shimmering in the night with regal pomp
There's a carnival wheel set loose
And as for the Crackerjack prizes
They surely aren't marvelous surprises
Each time you win---you lose

When gazed upon, the empty illusions throughout
Are conclusions that leave no room for doubt
They're delusions no longer devout
For all of our idols fell down
To know is simply to look around
Its costly to get here, priceless to get yourself out

I know, I know, pick me, hehe, When you win you loose, every failure lies within it the potential for sucess, never make the same mistake twice, learn your lesson and try again, you tried and you failed okay, so what, you want to know a secret, even the great wheelers and dealers and high rollers lose too, everybody fails sometime in their life, but the wheel keeps turning if you are at the bottom then know there is only one way you can go, but when things are going good for you prepare yourself for what comes next, life doesn't promise us easy trails all the time, but does promise change, so things didn't turn out the way you planned, do you have your health, can you love and be loved, then you are rich beyond words, that's it, that's the lesson, hold on to the good things in life and keep them close and remember how good it makes you feel to get you thru those tuffer times in life, so just remember if your loosing your still playing and as long as your playing you will win, but when you do, game over, your dead, so do you wanna play, or do ya wanna win, your choice, all you have to do is make the decion, the rest is up to fate, listen to your heart what does it tell you, exactly, my friend, let's play!

The game of life is strange. We think it is for amassing riches, but really it's all about finding and giving yourself to the greater good. The feelings you create and the ones you receive are all that really matter! This says that sort of, to me at least! Anthony

Though I'm more into reading love poems, this also captivated me. Very Well written. Keep up the good work.
