With Crimes Never Ending
by David Pekrul
copyright 01-21-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

All throughout history,
Crimes are committed,
While some are imprisoned,
Some others acquitted.

The judges in courthouses,
Speak for the masses,
While reading the charges,
They often need glasses.

And time spent in prison,
Is often so lacking,
Now where is the justice,
When crime has the backing?

Our laws need correcting,
They need some enforcing,
For people's protection,
Our safety endorsing.

The government's sleeping,
The lawmakers hiding,
The criminals laughing,
While getting a chiding.

And into the future,
With crimes never ending,
Our leaders are making,
More laws they are bending.

Laws are made to be broken. No, I'm just kidding, lol, I just had to say that! My father is a San Antonio police officer and I have much respect for the law. Anyway, I think you have a good point here, however I feel the need to play devils advocate for a moment, dunno why, but, I think that just because we don't enforce the laws because of whatever reason, technicalities, loop holes, bribes, corruption, more illegal activity doesn't mean we shouldn't keep making more laws, because I do know we are trying, on a local level, maybe not the best we can, but damn near it, but the further you go up the chain, the more corrupt it gets, theoretically speaking, I like to think our government is very honorable and if there is anything less than upstanding law abiding citizens inside the oval office, our President, and our M.V.P.'s don't know it. However, this is a free country, and every body has a right to make bad decisions until pr oven guilty and then their rights will be taken away. So from the jail court house all the way to the Supreme Courts, their are humans running the show, and... To human is too err... But just because we do doesn't mean we should just give up and say okay it's not working lets not try anymore, but on the other side of that I do get your point to and I know that is not what you're saying, You're not saying we shouldn't stop making more laws, too me you just seem fed up with our legal system, and you are saying they need to be focusing their energy on more needed places, which would be reinforcing the laws they have already made and get a handle on them before making new ones they can't enforce. Right, I think so, sorry to make my comment so long but you asked for it David, so their it is, great write, good job, thanks,

Regina

Why do they need new laws when they don't enforce the ones on the books? Law is for sale and if you can afford it, you get whatever you want! It won't change until the masses stand up and say NO! Then they will have to keep standing so that it doesn't switch back! Good one David. I don't have the time to read them all anymore, but I'm glad I choose to read this one! Anthony

The criminal justice system in the U.S. is no better. It is a revolving door with these liberal and activist judges giving in to the sleezy lawyers that would defend the devil himself if it paid off. They treat the criminal as the victim. Truly, liberalism is a mental disorder and what perfect example but to look at the injustice being dished by the very people sworn to uphold the law. Thanks for bringing everyone's attention to a very serious and important issue.
