The nightingale heralds the slowly falling curtain of another day
The sound lingers on the edge of my tongue
I swallow it as I swallow the crimson sunset
And as it in turn swallows me
I muse of loved ones past and present
As they perhaps muse of me
No matter this reflecting
As I am I ---- I am they
As they are they --- they are me
From somewhere close
Honeysuckles speak on wafts of air
They whisper their delight of being,
Overwhelmed as I am --- how can I do less?
I hear and I am heard
I see and I am seen
I feel and I am felt
I love and I am loved
Would I not be an ungracious guest to ask for more?
Whatever my host --- a finer table could not be set
A finer feast could not be prepared
The meaning of all this is the partaking --- the appreciating
The trouble it took to get here is all in the mind
The long hard journey was part of the whole event
Each mountain big and small
Was all of the part and part of the all
I partake and am partaken
Ever the balance is preserved
If the first among you is the last
God then becomes the sacrifice
We see not sharp ---large or small
The smaller power is the greater if upon it all must rest
For as long as the unseen strings are still in place
God can play and so can we
I saw the sun setting, but could give no witness to its set
Like the run of a fox --- so fast was I cloaked in darkness
We wait for the moment with fear or anticipation
And yet the moment sure escapes us all
What can be relevant --- what can be real?
The nightingale is long-flown
I noticed not her leave
Constellations crawl within the darkness
I see nothing but for reflections
And they grow somewhat dim
Its time to fetch my overcoat
To bid my host goodbye
And though my heart yearns more to linger
The guest most gracious knows
Life's just that and nothing more
Thanks be, for your grace my Lord
Now kindly close the door

This is one of the most professional pieces I've seen on this site. Unfortunately, I'm pretty tired at the moment and am incapable of really analyzing it in depth.
So I'll just say, "SPAAAAAAACE JESUUSSSSS....!!"
