O, Heavenly Light
by David Pekrul
copyright 02-02-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

O, heavenly angel with heavenly light,
Please listen to me as I tell of my plight,
I'll tell of a season when I came undone,
By things that I said, which I counted as fun.

In moments of weakness I acted unkind,
For I was so stupid, so dumb and so blind,
Not thinking of others, I wanted my way,
And now that it's over, it's me who will pay.

I wanted attention; all eyes upon me,
I thought that my actions would be the right key,
To gain their acceptance, respect, and their love,
I know I was wrong, so I call up above,

And ask for an answer to what I can do,
To show them I'm sorry and show them it's true,
That I'm a new person, no longer the same,
And I am the one who accepts all the blame,

For things I have said and the things I have done,
That caused them such heartache, and loss of the sun,
From this day on forward I'll do what is right,
And look for forgiveness and heavenly light.

Rich is dead-on I must agree. The rhyme's near perfect. Thanks for another great display of artistic ability DAN P.

Being self-centered gets all us, I think. Some of us grow through it, others do not. I don't think I grew out of it until I hit my fifties,
Anyway, I liked the sentiments, the flawless syllable count and the good rhymes/

Bravo again,

Rich
