A Pencil, Paper, and Words
by Euna P. (Age: 15)
copyright 02-03-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I sit down
and make myself comfortable
in the brown wooden chair
and pick up a pencil.

There is paper with blue lines
on the desk.
Blue lines streaking across
and holes on the left side.

I sit back, and close my eyes.
I gather my thoughts and ideas.
and slowly, very slowly
I can feel it.

I can feel the power of creating
the power to imagane.
I can feel the power of an army so vast
I do not know the boundries.

The tens of thousands of words
that create this army
have great power, greater than
anyone could think in the first glance.

Inkblots on white paper
lead scratchings on paper
can mend someone
can destroy someone.

I sit and think
I open the tiny box in my mind
letting out all my imaganiation and ideas
so many to choose from.

I let my thoughts go free
watching them spiral up and up and up
farther and farther up and up and up
yet always in sight.

I feel this power in my very blood
the energy coursing through me.
With the right words, I can do
anything.

I can create or destroy.
I can turn light into dark.
I can change water into fire.
I can bend and twist time.

I can read the future.
I can see the smallest atom.
I can feel ridges and grooves in air.
I can do absolutly anything.

All it takes is me.
The words are within my grasp
waiting for me to release them
onto the cruely blank surface..

Fill the void! Fill it all!
Fill it with words, create a bridge
between here, my desk, and
a whole different world.

I can write the stories of anything.
Anything I please.
I can create whatever I wish.
It is a power some can only dream of.

Thinking of all this
I gather my ideas for this void and blankness
and I lean forward.
I press my pencil to the paper...

And I begin to write.

Ahhh, something we all love about writing. The way it started reminds me of a non-dark version of my poem Lines. That's why I write, to escape my world and hid awake in a world of fantasy that I control and created. One thing that I love about PnP is it lets me let people know about the worlds I've created with my words. And I need to give a big thanks to my keyboard, for I have horribly handwriting. :) Even though, most people say, "I couldn't write without the influence of my parents!" and that like, but me, I write to get away from my parents. When I get writers block, it's because I'm forced to be around my parents and they've depressed me beyond words. Anyhow, the flow and rhythm of this poem is great. You've given it great descriptions, and aside from the need of capital letters it's perfect. From reading all of your works, I can see how greatly you've matured in writing. Keep up the great work!

May the divine darkness be with you,
Leigh of the Commenting Crusaders

This is just what I love about writing! You can just create your own world and it doesn't have any rules or anything! It's like you're the creator of a new world. ^^ Great write

Wow! This is wonderful. Yes, there is power in the written word, and you have just demonstrated that. Nothing more to say; just Wow!
