I stand and rap upon eternities chamber doors,
I pray an answer comes from within its corridors.
For as is now, I stand in gloom,
Fearing life's awful inevitable doom,
Yes, in its face I stare,
With deep, darkening dire, despair.
I shout out, in distraught tone,
only to have echo's bounce back from throughout,
As if to remind me I am all alone,
Then quietly opens up the door, and all of heavens radiant glory is shone,
And thereupon this breath taking moment, I realize . . . the Lord has answered to take me home.
Now, freedom from these chains in life I've found,
For beyond these chamber door's shall my soul eternally be bound.
" Knock and the door shall be opened."
Therefore knock .
Though through life we search, it is in death we find we are found, and faith is rewarded.
