You know, I grew up in a town where we had a japanese exchange program. I was always taught that one is ich. Not ichi. I was taught that Ichi meant something that you really don't want to say. I often find myself in a debate over it.

Anyways, thanks for the lesson! Very edumacational!

Does Ichiban mean first place? Mushiban means cavities, but I'm not sure about ichiban.
