Montana Leaves
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 10-03-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

From tall oak to forest floor
From a neighbor's trees next door
Another place, ‘nother time
Colors might be yours and mine
Yellow, red, orange - shades of brown
In my mind they're drifting down
Crunching crisp beneath our feet
Two hearts synchronized in beat
Bundled in our flanneled love
Watch them while they dance above
Floating, lofting, big sky breeze
I can see Montana leaves

Bonfire now in shadowed light
Curling leaf smoke thrills my night
Cuddled under mountain stars
Is this Earth or is it Mars?
Listening to the whippoorwill
Only crackling breaks the still
Kissing tears that bless your cheeks
Hear your thoughts - you need not speak
Reverie across cold miles
Brings both misery and smiles
Lonely prayer here on my knees
I can smell Montana leaves

For an Edmontonian, you write a pretty picture of Montana, but then Alberta is right next door.
Nicely done.

I feel like I was there. I love camping, tho I've never been to Montana. I know the "flannel" feeling of love...it's so comfy and cozy. *smile*

This is absolutely excellent. Great mind pictures. I love Montana anyway. Thanks, Jackie
