Oh God

  Oh God

Oh God

Life has been so rough
And troubles are so strong.
The days and nights seem so cold
Oh God, they seem so long.

Yet there is always something
That puts my mind at ease.
A faithful place that I go
Oh God, I hope you're pleased.

In faith I give you everything
You are the reason that I live.
My heart has runneth over
Oh God, thanks for all you give.

I know that I have stumbled
Your path is not always clear.
I always need your guidance
Oh God, I'm glad you're here.

I live by all your teachings
I pass along all that I know.
To all that heard, I gave your word,
Oh God, I love you so!

Confessing before the many.. your love and dependance are sweet music to God's ear.

marvelous. I can add nothing to the heaps of magnificent praise already bestowed on this thoroughly deserving poem.
however...
my typo sense is kicking in.
line 8: "you're"

one teeny speck in an otherwise-perfect piece.

Very inspirational!! It has reminded me who is going to help me make it through the troubled times.
Thank you

I can really relate to your poem. God is a big part of my life and sometimes I fail to see his love through dark times. No matter what, He will always be there for us; someone to teach us the ways of the righteous, someone to talk to when we have no one else to keep us company, someone to carry us when we have no more strength to tread further.

Such a simple, well-written, and heartfelt tribute to the one that motivates us to be the best that we can be, the most spiritually human we can be. Nicely done.

Beautiful sentiments Anthony. Something everyone can take to their heart. A little meter tightness in the last two stanzas, in my humble opinion, might make the rhythm smoother there.

Bravo, good to see you writing again.

This sounds like something right out of the Book of Psalms. David wrote like this quite often, knowing that he wasn't perfect, always fell and stumbled, but also knowing that God was there to pick him up again.
This is very inspiring, Anthony. Thanks.

"I know that I have stumbled
Your path is not always clear.
I always need your guidance
Oh God, I'm glad you're here."

I loved that verse so much. One thing that I have learned, is that when I"m about to stumble, I close my eyes and look inside, and I can feel the part of me that is pure--that is good, that is closest to god. And by looking there, by finding my integrity and my morals, and living within those, I follow the path that God has set.

This was a beautiful and inspiring work, Anthony, I really, truely loved this! It was religious without indicating one specific belief, which I feel allows for those of all faiths to truely appreciate and relate to this. This is definitly one of my favorite works that you've done! Great job!
