Continuation of Moonlight Demon
I heard a soft knocking on my door as I slowly awoke.
"Lenne! Lenne, wake up, it's morning." Came the voice of my little brother. He wasn't my real little brother, more of a sept brother of sorts. Or the son of my Protector. The one who I was lead to believe was my father. We did not share the same blood, yet I still cared for both of them.
"Yes, Hohayus I know what time it is..." I mumbeled noticing that sun was straining through the curtains. "Hohayus, it is Sunday isn't it?"
"The least you can do is keep track of what day it is." He said through the closed door. "And yes, it is Sunday."
"Then why are you waking me up so early?"
"I don't know what you're talking about Lenne. It's almost noon." Hohayus said walking away.
"Noon?" I shouted in disbelief scrambling into my clothes and making my bed. I quickly rushed into the kitchen ready to make breakfast but Hohayus said his blond curls bouncing in his still very child looking face, "Daddy already left to work at the factory."
"Father already left? Didn't he say he was going to leave at one?" I asked putting the frying pan I was about to crack and pour eggs into down.
"He was, but a guy said he needed to get there early."
"A guy? Who?" I asked interested. Who in their right mind would come up here? The hill we lived on was at least a ten mile walk from town.
"Who knows, I didn't see his face any way. I'm going to town okay? I want to see my friends."
"Can you wait for me to get ready? It's dangerous to go into town on your own."
"Come of it, sis. I'm eight and nothings going to eat me, later." He said walking out the door. He knew that if there were any thieves in out small and quiet town that they'd be out on a Sunday. What drove him to go out? I sighed sinking to the floor saying,
"Sunday..."
"Please tell me your answer in seven moon sets." I recalled Hozogay's words and I knew that he would return tonight to see me. And I still hadn't made my decision. My cat, Freedom, walked over to me and placed her head on my lap. I had my eyes closed and stroked her head when I felt a fig ling of cold little feet on my lap. I opened my eyes quickly and screamed. Freedom had placed a huge field mouse on my lap. She didn't let it out of her teeth, but it was bloody and still slightly alive.
"Freedom I told you not to bring those inside!" I screeched as she ran out the door her prize still squeaking. I glanced down at the loose white dress I was wearing and it was smartened with blood.
"Great! Just great!" I said stamping my foot temper rising. I decided since my father and brother were both out I might as well wear the set of boys clothes I have and do some exploring. I touched a strand of my silver hair behind my ear as I pulled out the pair of pants. I mostly had loose summer dresses and the pants were made of rough denim. They weren't as comfortable as the normal clothes I wore but I'd only get a dress torn and dirty in the forest. I steeped outside pulling the slightly too small shirt over my midriff since it always seemed to slid up.
"How embarrassing..." I muttered. My father joked that I was under weight, and I probably was, but I still didn't really like having my body showing like that. I sighed knowing that the only living things that would see me are a few squirrels and such. I only wish I'd made it into the forest.
As I walked out of the house and glanced up at the sun I noticed that it must be about noon. If I get back before five I should be able to cook dinner and change back into normal clothes. I didn't think my father would approve other wise. He wouldn't point blank say "No", but he was never really positive about me going any where or doing anything dangerous. I believed that my brother, Hohayus, might be the half. My Exorcist power were strong, and my brother always seemed to have a strong aura. I smiled thinking of Hohayus as an Exorcist. He'd be called Hohayus Of Two Moons if he was one. as I continued I tripped over the ankle high boots I was wearing. I was used to going bare foot and it was an irritating change. I stood up slowly pushing my self up with my hands first. When I opened my eyes the grass was an impossible deep and rich golden.
"What?" I whispered as I stood. I looked up at the sun using a hand to cover the glare.
The sky went all golden and hot wind started to blow in place of the cool breeze. I stepped back from where I was standing and tried to open my eyes but the suns' glare was too strong. I started to feel the heat increase as it came to the hilt of the process. As fast as it started it all ended. I blinked a few moments before fully taking in the site before me. It was most likely the last thing I excepted.
"Ouch..." The strange boy muttered standing up since he'd landed sideways and hit his head against the ground. He has deep golden eyes and a mess of golden hair.
"Lenne! It's you!" He said with a huge smile.
"How...how do you know me?" I asked taking a step back.
"You are Lenne, right?" He asked his smile fading.
"Well, I am Lenne, but not the Lenne you're looking for most likely..." I said still looking doubtful t the boy.
"Are you the daughter of the late Lenne Of Four Moons?" He asked then muttering, "It's not like Hozogay to lie..."
"Yes I am..." I replied attentively.
"Then, you're the beautiful young Exorcist I'm looking for." He said with a cocky smile. I could feel my face going slightly red as he said this.
"You still haven't told me who you are." I replied shortly.
"I haven't have I? Well allow me to introduce myself." He said bowing and kissing my hand then saying, "I am Akonzam The Second Of Four Suns."
