I come here to say
Congrats on a special day!
A year ago, here you stood
Waiting for the days of your marriagehood
Didn't you once tell me, long ago
Patrick's Day is your anniversary?
I wanted to make sure I'd be there
To help decorate this day in your memory
My rhyming may be horrible
My word use impossible to look at
But my words speak true
For you, my dear friend Kat
Happy Anniversary, on this beautiful day!
I wish you well from the bottom of my heart
And the top, the sides, and center as well
That's all I have, or I'd buy you the entire K-Mart!
May the clouds always protect you
And the sun brighten your days
May the stars twinkle over Crystal's fair hair
And the goldens defeat the grays
I know most could write better than me
Yet could they match the meaning I pour?
Nope, not at all! Never, ever, ever!
Because in my poems I put more-
Than just rhymes and pretty little words
I put meaning and heart and all I have
Especially for you Kat, on this special day
When you read this, I hope you'll laugh-
And smile; just know I care about you
Even though I might be wrong
I don't exactly know if this is the day
But still, I'll sing you a little song!
Happy A-Day to you!
Blessed A-Day to you!
My wishes rest with you!
Merry A-Day to you!

I really like this poem! it put a smile on my face. Poems don't always have to rhyme to be good. The meaning, message, and feeling is important too, and you had all of these. Could you check out some of my new poems when you have the time? I want to know what you think. thanks.
Just a fellow writer,
~Cassie~
i luved this poem. it was so heart felt, and the sad thing is usualyl when people are married men dont ever remember their anniverserys yet a you do.
I like how some stanza;s rhymed and the others didnt it made the poem seem more you. Also in the poem u talk about a lot more than just saying ahppy anniversary u say what you feel about poetry too, which is unique and yet i dont think ive ever known any other poem to do that.
It's is nice that you love your friend that much do give her one of your very own poems. If i could write a poem for everyone of my friends i know each one would be different and unique, but that would take years. lol well here is your comment cuz i accidentlygave u praise but for got to comment cu i got to sidetracked with multitasking
well luv ya

I just discovered what I expected about you all along. You are a deeply sentimental and very warm hearted person, as well as a gifted writer and a grammar freak. It's a pleasure to know you.
I thought I should wait for Kat to read this before I commented. :) You know me and dark, but I still enjoyed reading this. As excepted the grammar is perfect, along with the spelling. Did you know that I've been thinking of writing something that isn't dark because I've ran out of dark ammo? lol, imagine that... Me writing about happy things...Nah! :) Your rhymes are cute and I like the little story you tell. You should put in the right name though. :p Good work on a cute little poem!

This was so sweet of you! Thank you so much for this piece. My daughter's name is Crystal, actually, but I still got the message. This is a nice poem for any nice anniversary, but it makes this anniversary particularly good. The rhyming was amusing, and your choice of words was adorable. Again, many, many thanks. Blessings to you too, and take care sweety! No one has ever written such a piece for me before. ^_^ *hugs* Doumo arigatou!
