Give A Damn

Nobody gives a damn
Nobody cares
Surrounding me with cold unreaching hands
Why should care?
In this heartless world
Friends and loves are all in vain
All ends in pain
No one cares
No one wants to wait
Nobody takes the time
Friendships turn to hate
Because nobody takes the time
Maybe I'm just weak
To try to stay with my friends
My heart's sprung a leak
To give a hand to lend
Nobody give a damn
'Bout one little person
There's million others doing the same
Just trying to live
Trying to really smile
Not playing a game
Nobody gives a damn about one person
It takes many voices to be heard over this meaningless fighting
Fighting that only results in the spilling of blood
In this cold world of uncaring hands;
Nobody gives a damn about we fading dreams
We the dying embers
We who are trying to remember
We the fleeting dreams
Nobody gives a damn

I know how you feel Leigh. I've been there too, just know it'll get better and people do care about you. It may seem like nobody cares but they do. I might change the age rating for this though. I wouldn't read it to a ten year old ha ha. Believe me though, it'll all be ok in time. Bye Girl!

You did a great job on your re-write.
You have so much creative imagination, don't let it go to waste. Look up couplets on the internet and try to write one, but it must be light(sorry).
Reach out and experiment with new things. If you want to be a real poet, thats the only way!
I hope I have helped you in some small way.
My little friend,
I feel th magnetism behind this poem.
the swirling vortex of confused feelings. Don't be afraid, your real friends will never leave you.
This is philosophy that seems to suggest that you are far ahead of your age. It's really powerful. I'd suggest breaking it up into stanzas of four lines each and try to rhyme the first and third and the second andd fourth.
