You Are, I Am

  You Are, I Am

You Are, I Am

When they see you take a breath,
they see my chest rise.
When they ask about you,
They see the love in my eyes.

They hear it in every word I say,
That my love for you is strong.
That even though it's been a while,
The road hasn't been that long.

The path might have been rocky,
But I'd climb it every day.
If at the top, I'd find you
I'd surely find the way!

There were times in the past,
That I hung my head and cried.
Times when things didn't feel so good,
So sorry that I tried.

Yet since the day that we met,
The sun has kept on shining.
Through the rain, I was able to see,
You my silver lining.

Now as the years tick away
And our lives get near the close.
I'll shout out, from every roof top,
So everybody knows.

I say it loud and say it clear,
And not just because I can.
Because you came into my life,
Because You Are, I Am!

When you find the one that completes you, you find a kind of feeling that you have never dreamed of before. Life becomes a poem and you live the verses. There are good and bad times, but they are not as hard with someone by your side. I dedicate this to my shinning star...Kim! I love you with all my heart, Anthony

In the times that we live in today it is very rare to find what you and your wife Kim share! It makes my heart so light and at ease when I hear or see a couple who complete each other so well and that are there for each other every day and the commitment and the love shared is such a blessing! So happy for you both!

This poem is absolutely beautiful too by the way... While reading it I couldn't help but get this other voice coming into my head as a memory from my own wedding where the preacher was saying that I was made to complete my husband and how he was always to be beside me not above me or below me, The wisest words I've still ever heard.... no better no worse always equal and always there for one another!

The love felt in this piece can only be written by the truest of hearts... I wish so many more where able to put them selves out there like this so that they too could experience the love that you share with Kim for them selves as well some day!

So many lines have been written to express the same sentiments, and yet you ever write them with a freshness that I so enjoy reading. And I am always glad to read about a long gone right for a change! :-) Thank you!

Every time you write about your wife and your coupleship with her, I always sense a deep reverence and honesty for your relationship with her. Importantly, the writing never seems mawkish or inflated. Really honest.

A good woman certainly makes us the men we are. The book of Genesis says that God gave man a woman to be his helpmate. How true that statement is!
Your poem reminds me of the one I wrote some time ago, called "Balance Of Nature".
